COLLEGE SPORT IN THE USA

Sports in the United States play an important role in the society. Youth are encouraged to take part in some kind of sport since an

early age all the way to university level. High school American football games can reach up to or more than 15,000 people, while college

athletes can receive more than 110,000 fans , which is an astounding capacity that most professional level does not achieve.

This makes us easily understand the importance of sports in the American culture.

Indeed, sports and athletes improvements are fully integrated into the school system , which is not usual in other countries.

This is the reason why the United-States have got many great athletes in most of the sports. The athletes come from all around the world,

and the recognized and high-level NCAA championships are getting bigger and bigger:

NCAA college athletes collected 44 Olympic medals during the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

It is probably as important as the sports played at professional level. In fact, the stadiums are huge and have a great attendance the majority

of the time. The amount of sponsorships and financial backups are incredible, the infrastructure, training facilities and the support of staffs

working with the athletes are equivalent to the elite professional clubs in Europe.
